About Dr. “Carlo Fernando” Ramos

Dr. Ramos, born Carlos Fernando Ramos Jr. (artist name “Carlo Fernando”), has marked the many phases of his life by multiple arts he studied throughout his childhood into his adult years.

Among his first–a gift given to him by his mother–is that of fine arts. Within these, he excels in drawing photo-realistic pencil portraits (pictured right), and translated this black & gray art into the anatomical color tattoo hyper-realism that inspired his work in 3D areola tattooing.

He now specializes exclusively in areola tattooing and has pioneered hybrid tattoo/procedural cosmetics to offer his clients nothing short of world-class cosmetic work following mastectomy among other conditions.

Education & Training

Dr. Ramos completed a dual degree as a Bachelor of Science with the University of Central Florida in both Molecular Biology and Microbiology.

He subsequently proceeded to complete a 1-year research internship at the University of Puerto Rico-Medical Sciences Campus with the department of neuro-AIDS, studying neurological sequelae of the virus as he also honed his indexing methods in building sample repositories in the lab.

In 2008, he began his medical training at the San Juan Bautista School of Medicine in Caguas, PR, after which he relocated to Tampa, FL to complete his Medical Doctorate at the USF Morsani College of Medicine.

He completed his residency training, during which he completed a number of national publications, the most notable of which was in the area of acute management of street drug overdose, and was featured in Rolling Stones for his contributions to the management of intoxication with “China White“–A lethal fentanyl isomer marketed for “experimental use,” and abused by narcotic users in the like.

During medical school and residency, Dr. Ramos spent his spare time drawing, writing music, and tattooing.

He completed his apprenticeship in traditional tattooing following residency under Inkmaster Nominee, Jonathan Clark in Tampa, FL.

Inspired by his experiences with cancer patients at H. Lee Moffitt cancer center, Dr. Ramos really did not take long to realize the gift tattooing could bring to a breast cancer patient after having suffered the physical, psychological, and spiritual impact mastectomy can have in patients. Just as quickly, he was Philadelphia- bound! In the University of Pennsylvania, he pursued a focused advanced study specifically in 3D Areola Tattooing just prior to his formal training in procedural aesthetics.

He began his niche specialty practice in Tampa in 2017, offering 3D Areola Tattooing to patients in the Tampa area and completed countless procedures in this arena.

Today, he represents the procedural aesthetics industry as one of the only physicians in the nation performing 3D Areola Tattooing with an active tattooing license achieved following traditional tattooing apprenticeship and years of hands-on experience.

Personal Life

In his personal life, Dr. Ramos continues to pursue many creations. “I love to try everything once… the irony is that many times a new form of art introduces me to myself in a new way…”

Among them, Dr. Ramos can be seen frequenting Orlando Latin Dance events as he is an avid singer and dancer of Salsa. He has recently been accepted by Executive Record Studios for his independent Latin-fusion project album, inspired by the ubiquitous nature of Latin music, in which he dissects his belief that the beauty of the human lies in its implicit imperfections.

Featured also in multiple independent films, Dr. Ramos periodically takes on acting contracts, most recently featured in Choice directed and produced by crime film Director, Javier Castro. While this work’s release has been held due to its nomination in indie film festivals, it is soon to be released in 2022.

Dal-Segno Medical-A Life’s Work

Opening officially April 2022 in Orlando, FL, Dal-Segno Medical Arts Clinic is how a passion for helping others heal from the outside-in is embodied in its mission.

A patient once stated:

When I saw myself in the mirror, something in me changed forever! A dark shadow that lingered over me for years disappeared! At first it was so freaky to see such realistic-looking nipples tattooed to my breasts, but for the first time in years, I felt complete! I can’t wait to show my husband!

Born of this and many other similar cases comes a closely held philosophy at Dal-Segno Medical that sometimes people heal from the outside-in. The belief is that under normal circumstances, when one feels good on the outside, they begin to feel good on the inside as well, and one is consequently more likely to do good for themselves and their health as a result.

This clinic was therefore founded on that premise and is now offering cosmetic health procedures as well as functional medicine services to bring out the “designer you” that we ALL embody!

It is a clinic designed to make its patients feel like a millionaire at a competitive price point, and help others understand what they require to live their very best life! It was also designed with access in mind. General appointment hours begin at noon and extend until 8:00pm with the aim of allowing a more accessible window for the working client.

In addition, business hours from 8:00am until 12:00pm are “blocked” for special appointments, thus providing a very discrete space for professional entertainers that follow with Dr. Ramos, as well as those who exhibit a bit more modesty with respect to their cosmetic procedures.
